The Ministry of Education, Government of India  has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests.

NTA organizes Joint Entrance Examination every year.  There are two JEE – Main exams. Students can appear in both and the best of the two has been considered his actual score. The all-India rank is decided by the process of calculating the percentile of each candidate. If students get more than cut off percentile marks, they are qualified for JEE Advanced exam.

The schedule for the same is given below:

National Testing Agency is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2024 Session 1 at different Centres located throughout the country and cities outside India on 24th January (2nd Shift) for B.Arch.& B.Planning (Paper 2A & Paper 2B) and 27,29,30, 31st January, and 1st February 2024 for B.E/B.Tech. (Paper 1).


Before appearing exam-

Kindly keep in mind the following:

परीक्षेला बसण्यापूर्वी- खालील बाबी लक्षात घ्या.

1) Please download your Admit Card from the NTA website

कृपया NTA वेबसाइटवरून तुमचे प्रवेशपत्र डाउनलोड करा

2) Please check the following as indicated on the Admit Card:

कृपया प्रवेशपत्रावर दर्शविल्याप्रमाणे खालील गोष्टी तपासा:

i) Reporting Time at Centre

केंद्रावर पोहचण्याची वेळ

ii) Gate Closing time of Centre

केंद्राचे गेट बंद होण्याची वेळ

iii) Date of Examination

परीक्षेची तारीख

iv) Shift and Timings of Test

चाचणीची शिफ्ट आणि वेळ

v) Venue of Test

चाचणीचे ठिकाण

3) You should visit the Examination Centre, in advance and familiarize yourself with the location and means of reaching the venue of the Test on time.

तुम्ही परीक्षा केंद्राला अगोदर भेट द्यावी आणि परीक्षेच्या ठिकाणी वेळेवर पोहोचण्याचे ठिकाण आणि प्रवासाबद्दल माहिती घ्यावी.

4) The candidates were advised to register through Digi Locker/ABC ID. Those candidates who did not register through the Digi Locker / ABC ID (or chose authentication through non-Aadhaar options), need to report early on the day of the examination (at least 1 hour earlier) to get their Biometrics recorded at the Exam Centre.

उमेदवारांना डिजी लॉकर/एबीसी आयडीद्वारे नोंदणी करण्याचा सल्ला देण्यात आला आहे. ज्या उमेदवारांनी डिजी लॉकर/एबीसी आयडीद्वारे नोंदणी केली नाही (किंवा आधार नसलेल्या पर्यायांद्वारे प्रमाणीकरण निवडले आहे), त्यांनी परीक्षा केंद्रावर त्यांचे बायोमेट्रिक्स रेकॉर्ड तपासण्यासाठी परीक्षेच्या दिवशी लवकर (किमान 1 तास आधी) उपस्थिती देणे आवश्यक आहे.

5) On the day of the Examination, please reach the venue of the Test at the Reporting Time mentioned in the Admit Card.

परीक्षेच्या दिवशी कृपया अॅडमिट कार्डमध्ये नमूद केलेल्या रिपोर्टिंग वेळेत परीक्षा केंद्रावर चाचणीच्या ठिकाणी पोहोचा.

If you report beyond the Gate Closing time of the Centre, you will not be allowed to enter the Test venue.

तुम्ही परीक्षा केंद्राच्या गेट बंद होण्याच्या वेळेच्या पुढे आल्यास, तुम्हाला चाचणीच्या ठिकाणी प्रवेश दिला जाणार नाही.

Instructions have been issued for strict compliance.

सूचनांचे काटेकोरपणे पालन केले जाणार आहे.

Pre-examination formalities need to be completed therefore please arrive on time.

परीक्षेपूर्वी अनेक औपचारिकता पूर्ण करणे आवश्यक असते. त्यामुळे कृपया वेळेवर पोहोचा.


You should carry with you only the following items :

तुम्ही तुमच्यासोबत परीक्षा केंद्रावर खालील अत्यावश्यक गोष्टी आणाव्यात. त्या शिवाय परीक्षेला बसता ह्येणार नाही.

i) Admit Card downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear, preferably colour printout on A4 size paper).

NTA वेबसाइटवरून डाऊनलोड केलेले प्रवेशपत्र (A4 आकाराच्या कागदावर स्पष्ट व प्राधान्याने रंगीत प्रिंटआउट) आणावे.

ii) Two Passport size photograph (same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) is to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre.

दोन पासपोर्ट आकाराचे फोटो (ऑनलाइन अर्जासोबत अपलोड केल्याप्रमाणे) केंद्रातील उपस्थिती पत्रकावर चिकटवावा.

iii) A valid Photo ID Proof in ORIGINAL (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E- Aadhaar/Ration Card/12th Class Admit card) .

मूळ (पॅन कार्ड / ड्रायव्हिंग लायसन्स / मतदार आयडी / पासपोर्ट / आधार कार्ड (फोटोसह) / ई- आधार / रेशन कार्ड / १२वी वर्गातील वैध फोटो आयडी पुरावा.


Important:

Please note that ID Cards issued by Schools/ Colleges/ Universities/ Coaching Centres, AADHAR enrollment receipts without AADHAR NUMBER, and Photo-copies or Images Stored on mobile phones, etc. will NOT be accepted.

(Note: No Candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Centre, without identity verification).

The Candidates may please note that this is NOT the Admit Card for JEE (Main) – 2024 Session 1.

Important Instructions about Hall Ticket-

1) The candidates scheduled to appear on 27 January 2024 to 1 February 2024 are required to download their Admit Card of JEE (Main) – 2024 Session 1 (January 2024) (using their Application No. and Date of Birth) for Paper 1 from the official website and go through the instructions contained therein as well as in the Information Bulletin.

27 जानेवारी 2024 ते 1 फेब्रुवारी रोजी हजर होणार्‍या उमेदवारांनी त्यांचे JEE (मुख्य) – 2024 सत्र 1 (जानेवारी 2024) (त्यांचा अर्ज क्रमांक आणि जन्मतारीख वापरून) पेपर 1 चे प्रवेशपत्र अधिकृत वेबसाइटवरून डाउनलोड करा आणि तेत्यातील सूचना काळजीपूर्वक वाचा.

2) The candidates are also required to ensure that the barcode is available on the Admit card while downloading.

उमेदवारांनी डाउनलोड करताना प्रवेशपत्रावर बारकोड उपलब्ध असल्याची खात्री करणे देखील आवश्यक आहे.

3) Admit Cards for the candidates whose exams are scheduled on subsequent dates will be released in due course.

4) The candidates are advised to carefully read the Subject-Specific Instructions and other instructions mentioned in the Question paper and abide by the same.

Exam Pattern

The questions will be based on Syllabus of State Council Of Educational Research And Training, Maharashtra.

Approximately 20% weightage will be given to Std. XI curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to Std.XII curriculum while setting the question paper. Paper 1 and 2 are compulsory for taking admission to Engineering.

There will be no Negative Marking, however difficulty level will be at par with the JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be at par with NEET. The questions will be mainly application based.

MHT-CET will consist of 3 question papers of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and each paper will be of 100 marks. Details are as given below :
