High Security Registration Plate – HSRP

What is an HSRP?

A High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is a tamper-proof number plate introduced to standardise vehicle identification across the country.

उच्च-सुरक्षा नोंदणी प्लेट (HSRP) ही छेडछाड-प्रूफ नंबर प्लेट आहे. ती देशभरात वाहनाची अचूक ओळख प्रमाणित करण्यासाठी तयार केली आहे.

Features-

1) It is made of aluminum.

ही प्लेट ॲल्युमिनियमपासून बनलेली आहे.

2) Has several security features –

या प्लेट मध्ये अनेक सुरक्षा वैशिष्ट्ये आहेत, ते खालीलप्रमाणे –

a) a retro-reflective film that improves visibility at night.

यातील रेट्रो-रिफ्लेक्टीव्ह फिल्म रात्री च्या अंधारात दृश्यमानता सुधारते.

b) a chromium-based Ashoka Chakra hologram.

यात क्रोमियम-आधारित अशोक चक्र होलोग्राम आहे.

c) a unique 10-digit laser-etched serial number.

यात देशात एकमेव असलेला 10-अंकी लेसर ने तयार केलेला अनुक्रमांक आहे.

d) One of the key features of HSRPs is the non-removable snap lock, which makes it difficult to tamper with or transfer to another vehicle.

HSRP च्या प्रमुख वैशिष्ट्यांपैकी एक म्हणजे न काढता येणारी स्नॅप लॉक असलेली नंबर प्लेट. यामुळे नंबर प्लेट मध्ये छेडछाड करणे किंवा दुसऱ्या वाहनात ती हस्तांतरित करणे कठीण होईल.

e) Additionally, vehicles with HSRPs must display a colour-coded third registration sticker on the windscreen.

This sticker contains important details such as the vehicle’s registration number, engine number, and chassis number, making it easier for authorities to track and verify vehicle authenticity.

याव्यतिरिक्त, HSRP असलेल्या वाहनांनी विंडस्क्रीनवर कलर-कोडेड तिसरा नोंदणी स्टिकर प्रदर्शित करणे आवश्यक आहे.

या स्टिकरमध्ये वाहनाचा नोंदणी क्रमांक, इंजिन क्रमांक आणि चेसिस क्रमांक यासारखे महत्त्वाचे तपशील असतात, ज्यामुळे अधिकाऱ्यांना वाहनाची सत्यता तपासणे आणि पडताळणे सोपे जाईल.

Why is HSRP mandatory?

The Supreme Court mandated HSRP installation to enhance road safety, prevent vehicle-related crimes, and improve the enforcement of traffic rules.

सुप्रीम कोर्टाने रस्ता सुरक्षा वाढवण्यासाठी, वाहनांशी संबंधित गुन्हे रोखण्यासाठी आणि वाहतूक नियमांची अंमलबजावणी सुधारण्यासाठी HSRP स्थापना अनिवार्य केली आहे.

Benefits of HSRP number plates-

Before HSRPs, many vehicles used duplicate, fake, or fancy number plates, making it difficult to trace stolen vehicles or those involved in criminal activities.

HSRP पूर्वी, अनेक वाहने डुप्लिकेट, बनावट किंवा फॅन्सी नंबर प्लेट वापरत असत, ज्यामुळे चोरीची वाहने किंवा गुन्हेगारी कारवायांमध्ये गुंतलेल्यांचा शोध घेणे कठीण होते.

With HSRPs, transport department officials can easily track vehicles as each plate is linked to the vehicle’s registration details. The use of standardised plates also ensures that all vehicles follow a uniform pattern, making it easier for traffic personnel to identify non-compliant vehicles.

HSRP मुळे वाहतूक विभागाचे अधिकारी सहजपणे वाहनांचा मागोवा घेऊ शकतात कारण प्रत्येक प्लेट वाहनाच्या नोंदणी तपशीलाशी जोडलेली असते.

The HSRPs also come with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, allowing digital tracking, and reducing the chances of vehicle theft and unauthorized transfers.

HSRP रेडिओ फ्रिक्वेन्सी आयडेंटिफिकेशन (RFID) तंत्रज्ञानासह बनवल्या आहेत. त्या डिजिटल ट्रॅकिंगला परवानगी देतात आणि वाहन चोरी आणि अनधिकृत हस्तांतरणाची शक्यता कमी होते.

The timeline for installing HSRP-

As per the order, all vehicles registered before April 2019 must install HSRPs by April 30, 2025.

आदेशानुसार, एप्रिल 2019 पूर्वी नोंदणीकृत सर्व वाहनांनी 30 एप्रिल 2025 पर्यंत HSRP स्थापित करणे आवश्यक आहे.

How to get these new HSRP number plates?

Maharashtra Transport Department has been divided into three zones, each managed by an authorized vendor. They will install the number plates. Vehicle owners have to register their appointment by online mode.

महाराष्ट्र परिवहन विभाग तीन झोनमध्ये विभागला गेला आहे, प्रत्येक विभाग अधिकृत विक्रेत्या द्वारे व्यवस्थापित केला जातो. ते नंबर प्लेट लावतील. वाहनधारकांना त्यांची अपॉइंटमेंट ऑनलाइन पद्धतीने नोंदवावी लागेल.

List of Vendors-

Zone 1 (12 RTOs) – Rosmerta Safety Systems Ltd.

Zone 2 (18 RTOs) – Real Mazon India Ltd.

Zone 3 (27 RTOs) – FTA HSRP Solutions Pvt Ltd.

Registration Number-

The registration number is typically a combination of letters and numbers that is assigned to the vehicle by the government.

A chromium-based hologram of the size 20 mm x 20 mm shall be applied by hot stamping on the top left-hand corner of the plate in both front and rear plates to protect against counterfeiting.

नोंदणी क्रमांक हा सामान्यत: सरकारद्वारे वाहनाला नियुक्त केलेल्या अक्षरे आणि क्रमांकांचे संयोजन आहे.

20 मिमी x 20 मिमी आकाराचा क्रोमियम-आधारित होलोग्राम बनावटीपासून संरक्षण करण्यासाठी प्लेटच्या वरच्या डाव्या हाताच्या बाजूला पुढील आणि मागील दोन्ही प्लेट्समध्ये मुद्रांकन करून लागू केले जाईल.

Cost-

The cost of installing an HSRP varies depending on the type of vehicle. It ranges between ₹531 and ₹879, including GST, with separate snap lock charges.

HSRP बसवण्याची किंमत वाहनाच्या प्रकारानुसार बदलते. ते स्वतंत्र स्नॅप लॉक शुल्कासह, जीएसटीसह ₹531 आणि ₹879 च्या दरम्यान आहे.

Vehicle owners must book an appointment through the Maharashtra Transport Department’s official website at least two days in advance.

What if vehicle owners do not install HSRPs?

Failure to install an HSRP before the deadline will result in a fine of ₹1,000 under Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) and Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
